Dr. Brandon Gamble received his training in psychology from Oakwood College for his Bachelor's degree, San Diego State for his Master's degree, and the University of Southern California is where he earned his Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology.

From 1998 to 2009, he served middle and high school students as a school psychologist in the Long Beach Unified School District before becoming an associate professor at Cal State University Long Beach, in the College of Education for the Educational Psychology program from 2007 to 2017.  He has had the honor to serve as the adviser for the Black Student Union at CSULB.  Also, from 2018-2021, he was at his undergraduate alma mater to serve as a professor of Psychology and the Dean of Student Success at Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL.  In 2021, he served as the Charles Bell Faculty Scholar for the Black Resource Center (BRC) at San Diego State University (SDSU).  He began serving as the Director of the BRC at SDSU in the Spring of 2022.

His duties include but are not limited to:

Identifying, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and practices, and training as well as collaborating with the Academic Affairs, Student Affairs + Campus Diversity staff, and community partners.

Supervisor and support for BRC Professional staff,  interns, and students assistants to design and deliver programs for grad and undergrad Assessment tools for programs and learning outcomes. Work with campus entities to review climate.
Situates the space where students of the African diaspora can engage in meaningful relationship with Black faculty and staff (e.g., research, study abroad, Internships, & mentoring)

Fiduciary oversight (i.e., money, policy, procedures, etc.), as well as annual reports, and lead staff in those areas.

Dr. Gamble enjoys spending time with his family, martial arts, playing guitar, and surfing, which are all the things he dreamed of doing as a young man growing up in Southern California.
