Welcome
The Women’s Resource Center is a gender advocacy center that serves women and gender expansive individuals. Through an intersectional feminist lens, we offer training on sexual and gender-based violence (known as the Brave Project), educational and healing programming, resources for pregnant and parenting students, and a Women and Gender Equity first-year experience Program. Everyone is welcome to the WRC’s cozy cottage equipped with two gender-inclusive restrooms, a lactation room, and a kitchenette. The WRC provides a warm and brave space for students to explore their identities, find community, and work towards social justice.
A Statement on Gender Expansivity and Racial Justice
We acknowledge that conventional understandings of womanhood are entrenched in essentialist thinking, which assumes we are born into a rigid binary system. Additionally, mainstream feminism has too often been racist and transphobic, and has prioritized the needs and viewpoints of white cisgender women. At the Women’s Resource Center we strive to challenge racism, anti-Blackness, and trans-exclusion. We aim to center the needs of our multiply marginalized community members. All people are welcome to the WRC, and we hope everyone can find community and a space to be their full, authentic selves.
