Our Major Events

Through community engagement opportunities and specially themed workshops, we hope to empower the transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming communities to succeed on campus and beyond graduation. Join us as we come together to celebrate the 7th anniversary of striving for trans, enby, and GNC visibility and mainstream education at SDSU.
  • Lavender Graduation is an event meant to celebrate LGBTQIA+ & Ally students who will be graduating during the upcoming school year. This event allows students the opportunity to share meaning full acknowledgments with the individuals who have supported them through their academic journey. If you are interested in signing up for Lavender Grad please email Dr. Rothblum at: [email protected]
Please join us in the Conrad Prebys Student Union as we kick off San Diego Pride month with the annual raising of the Rainbow flag on San Diego State University Campus. This is a high-profile celebratory event, allows our community to come together to celebrate our lives and stories, page homage to those who came before us, and network with our larger LGBTQIA+ SDSU affiliated family.
The Pride Center and San Diego State University invite you to participate in the annual San Diego LGBTQIA+ pride parade. Our award-winning contingent regularly celebrates the day with a large group of marchers, the participation of SDSU Guard, and a convertible featuring our University President and administrators. Join us as we have fun, exercise, and celebrate Pride weekend in San Diego!
Get ready for a night of pure fun and entertainment! Join us at Dragstravaganza, our annual Dragtastic show that provides a space for all members of the Queer Community and their allies, to come together and celebrate their authentic existence in combination with the wonderful world of drag. The show includes spectacular performers from Rupaul’s Drag Race in addition to our own talented student performers.
In recognition of the many queer, black activists through history and now, the Pride Center is excited to invite all students to take part in a week of events and workshops meant to highlight and empower our black queer students through celebrating what they bring to our community as well as educate about unique experiences and challenges queer black folx face.
Transgender Day of Remembrance is a day that has been set aside to memorialize the countless lives lost due to transphobia and violence towards Trans and Gender Non-Conforming people. The Pride Center holds a flag-lowering ceremony in memory to all those lost this year and years before. We invite you to join us at this somber yet powerful event. Please come together and learn how to help honor the lives of transgender and Gender Non-Conforming, and LGBTQIA+ individuals in both death and life. Never forget, it is up to us and our communities to lead the collective change, toward resistance, liberation, and healing.
