Teaching and Supporting Black Students: Advancing Student Needs in Times of Racial Crisis

Community Wide Teach-In. A teach-in was held on Thursday, June 4 at 10am. This online event was titled, “Teaching and Supporting Black Students: Advancing Student Needs in Times of Racial Crisis.” This event was hosted by Dr. Feion Villodas, Chair of the Professors of Equity. The event featured a presentation by Dr. Frank Harris III, Professor of Postsecondary Education and Dr. J Luke Wood, distinguished professor and incoming VP for Student Affairs and Campus Diversity and closing remarks by Dr. Tonika Green, Charles Bell Scholar and Professor of Counseling and School Psychology. Video testimonies from SDSU students were interwoven throughout. These testimonies were coordinated by Christian Holt, Associated Students President. This event was open to all SDSU faculty and staff.
